Why is my male cat spraying?
Original Question: Hi, my cat’s name is Persia and he is 11 months old. I don’t know what is happening inside his body as he has suddenly lost weight and is also spraying urine but not peeing in the litter. He’s only dribbling 4 to 5 drops of urine and is spraying on walls, boxes and covers and also he is meowing a lot. Can you please tell me what should I do? Should I take her to get tests done? Also he is getting a fever and can you please suggest food for my cat to gain weight? - Amena
Hi Amena,
A male cat with urinary problems could be the result of a medical issue and I would strongly suggest getting him to a veterinarian immediately. Urinary crystals potentially causing an obstruction would be high on the list of possibilities. Some of the spraying may be contributed by him not being neutered. Behavioral issues may also be at play depending on what else may be going on in or around the home. Regardless, an exam and consultation with your veterinarian is prudent.
I hope this gives you some direction.
