Dr. Llera graduated from the University of Illinois in 2006 and practiced in Florida for 3 years before moving to Chatham, Ontario in 2009. After relocating to Kingston, Ontario in 2011, he is now an associate at the Kingston Veterinary Clinic.

Experiences with his own pets and patients led him to start writing in order to help pet owners better understand what their pets might be going through and to help lessen the fear of going to see your family veterinarian.. He is also a regular contributor to the Ontario SPCA blog. In his spare time, Dr. Llera has become active in the sport of dog agility. Currently, he and his wife have 9 pets – 3 dogs, 3 cats, 2 horses, and 1 rabbit: Taylor, Rudy, Keltie, Gremlin, Asia, Louie, Willie, Gus, and Henrietta round out their family!
